The Process
The devising process consists of
COLLECTING
WHY ?
You can’t create a script from nothing! The content for the show will be based on the Power Up Ensemble’s lives – their reality, their dreams, their stories.
WHAT?
Moments, stories, flashes and pieces
HOW & WHEN?
Candy and the tutors create warm ups and activities to help them dream, explore, create, sculpt, improvise, play, and write. This takes place
1) during rehearsals at PYT, Fairfield – see Rehearsal Schedule
2) as Homework – they get asked to bring in specific things- some of them are objects, some of them are prepared performances. They present their homework in the last session of the rehearsal – Show ‘n Tell. See Homework Schedule
3) anytime at all! They carry little journals to write in or collect newspaper articles, pictures, etc whenever something strikes them as interesting.
